Spring Economic Forecast: June
Dr. Steve Cochrane, of Moody’s Analytics, offers his annual economic briefing each Spring for the Sonoma County business community. His presentation measures the County’s strengths and weaknesses compared to the national economy and provides insight into what to expect ahead.
Dr. Cochrane is managing director of Moody’s Analytics and has been featured on Wall Street Radio,PBS NewsHour and PBS NewsHour. He oversees the U.S. regional forecasting service and directs the research and development activities for Moody’s. He also edits the Regional Financial Review, the monthly publication that analyzes U.S. macro, regional, industry and international trends.

Fall Economic Forecast: October
This annual breakfast event features Dr. Chris Thornberg, Principal of Beacon Economics and one of the state’s leading economic forecasters. This popular presenter discusses the future of California’s economy, Sonoma County and what local businesses can expect for the coming year. An expert in labor markets, real estate dynamics, and regional development, Dr. Thornberg was one of the earliest predictors of the housing market crash and of the economic recession that followed in 2008.
Dr. Thornberg holds a Ph.D in Business Economics from The Anderson School at UCLA and in 2015, was named to California State Treasurer John Chiang's Council of Economic Advisors, the body that advises the Treasurer on emerging strengths and vulnerabilities in the state's economy.
