Presented at 38th Annual California Association of Local Economic Development Conference

Santa Rosa,CA | April 04, 2018

Ben Stone Accepting Award GoSoCo 2018 500The Sonoma County Economic Development Board (EDB) received the Award of Excellence in Promotions for our post-fires “All You Need is Local – # GoSoCo” shop local campaign at the 38th Annual California Association of Local Economic Development Conference. The EDB partnered with the City of Santa Rosa and the other eight cities, along with 15 Chambers of Commerce to reach 55,000 shoppers. The campaign had 255,000 impressions on Facebook and ran in six local newspapers with both print and digital advertising. The #GoSoCo campaign was designed after the recent wildfires with business recovery and community support in mind. Conceived in October and launched in November for the 2017 holiday season, the campaign promoted the services, products and passions of our local business owners and mobilized residents and visitors to shop at Sonoma County businesses. It demonstrated that “all you need is local”, the idea that residents choosing to spend their money at Sonoma County-based establishments will help create a more resilient, sustainable local economy.
